SESSER – UTV and golf cart owners in Sesser will start having their vehicles reinspected starting March 1.

Sesser Mayor Jason Ashmore said on the city’s Facebook page Wednesday that the city wants to finish all inspections by April 15.

Ashmore says all golf carts and UTVs will require a permit sticker at a cost of $20 per year. Inspections will need to be done by April 15 of each year going forward.

The Sesser Police Department will handle this program. A permit must be displayed on the back of the vehicle. Any new vehicle must be inspected by the police department before being operated on city streets.

The mayor says while this program was implemented previously, the cost was suspended due to Covid.
