13 DEVIN DUVERNAY BALTIMORE RAVENS VS JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS NOVEMBER 27^ 2022 at TIAA BANK FIELD JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA

The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a one-year contract with veteran wide receiver and return specialist Devin Duvernay, worth $2.5 million.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz: “Sources: Former #Bears All-Pro WR/returner Devin Duvernay is signing with the #Cardinals on a 1-year, $2.5M deal, negotiated by @ErikBurkhardt of @RocNationSports. Aside from being an option at receiver, Duvernay is a key weapon for his field-position impact as a returner.”

Duvernay also has a personal connection within the Cardinals organization: he is a cousin of former Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who has since signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Duvernay spent time with several teams in recent years, including the Jacksonville Jaguars and most recently the Chicago Bears. A two-time Pro Bowl returner and 2021 First-Team All-Pro, Duvernay averaged 11 yards per punt return and 26.7 yards on kickoffs last season — the second-highest kickoff return average of his career. He also totaled 231 punt return yards and 1,069 kickoff return yards, including a long return of 56 yards.

Over the course of his career, Duvernay has built a reputation as one of the league’s most reliable returners. His standout 2021 season with the Baltimore Ravens earned him first-team All-Pro honors after he led the NFL with a 13.8-yard average on punt returns. Although he has never returned a punt for a touchdown, he did score twice on kickoff returns during his first three seasons.

The Cardinals are coming off a difficult 3–14 season and have struggled in recent years, with their last winning campaign coming in 2021. Adding a proven returner such as Duvernay could help provide better field position as the team looks for ways to improve in 2026.
