CARBONDALE – A 19-year-old Carbondale woman and a 15-year-old boy were arrested after Illinois State Police carried out two search warrants in Carbondale Wednesday.
As part of an ongoing investigation, ISP special agents went to the 700 block of West College Street and the 800 block of East College Street. During the searches, officers recovered a firearm. Shariah Davis and the boy were taken into custody on scene.
Agents presented the case to the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office who approved one count of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Firearm for Davis, and one count of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun for the boy. They were detained pending their first court appearance.
ISP was assisted by the Carbondale Police Department, ILEAS SWAT, and the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office.
