MARION – A man is lodged in the Williamson County Jail for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding and Reckless Driving among other traffic citations following a high-speed chase that ended with his arrest at a home in the 13000 block of Somers Church Road Thursday afternoon.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies saw Rex M. Summers in the driver’s seat of a vehicle as it began going east on Corinth Road from 12th Street in Johnston City around 2:15 p.m. He was driving on a revoked license.
Summers fled at a high rate of speed when he saw deputies. He also committed several traffic offenses.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled reaching speeds of 115 miles per hour.
The pursuit ended and several patrol units arrived in the area to set up a perimeter around northeast Williamson County where Summers’ vehicle was believed to be.
The vehicle was found at a home on Somers Church Road inside the established perimeter. Stop Sticks were used to stop Summers’ ability to escape.

Deputies arrested Summers without incident and took him to jail. He’s known to have a history of fleeing from law enforcement and narcotics.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and an investigative hold was placed on it pending the issuance of a search warrant to collect DNA and latent finger prints.
