PADUCAH – Dangerous cold remains on track to impact the area beginning Friday and continuing through Saturday according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.
A Cold Weather Advisory or possibly an Extreme Cold Warning may be needed Friday night and Saturday morning.
Confidence is growing that we will see scattered snow showers as well, with the best chances Friday morning and again Saturday morning. We could see a light dusting of snow and brief reduced visibility, but right now travel impacts are not expected.
Forecasters say our next chance of significant precipitation looks to arrive Tuesday night through Wednesday night. This could be in the form of a light wintry mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, or just plain rain. Light accumulations are possible, but it is too early to tell if there will be travel impacts. Check for updates for that in the coming days.
