CARBONDALE – A report of an armed robbery in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue in Carbondale Saturday led to the arrest to two men and one juvenile.
According to Carbondale Police, 18-year-old Jared Gibbs and 19-year-old Clayton Maclin, both of Carbondale, are in the Jackson County Jail charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Attempted Armed Robbery. A juvenile was also taken into custody and later released to a family member. A discarded firearm was also recovered.
The victim told police a group of black males and females tried to rob him and that one of the suspects was armed with a gun.
Police found Gibbs and Maclin near where the robbery happened. The juvenile was found nearby. All three were arrested.
