CARBONDALE – A 38-year-old Carbondale man was killed in an one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Carbondale.

According to Carbondale Police, Daryl L. Norwood was believed to be driving his vehicle south on South Wall Street when he failed to stop at the intersection of East Pleasant Hill Road, left the roadway and struck a tree causing extensive damage. The vehicle also caught fire.

Norwood was dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
