HERRIN – The Illinois State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a Thursday morning fire at an apartment complex on North 6th Street in Herrin.

According to Herrin Fire, when firefighters arrived they found heavy fire coming out of a second floor apartment. They made their way inside quickly to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported.
