MT. VERNON – Asphalt milling begins Wednesday and will continue through the rest of the week on several Mt. Vernon streets.
Two inches of asphalt will be removed by the city’s subcontractor to prepare the streets for new pavement.
Milling will take place on the following streets:
- Lilac Street
- Nature Trail/Buffalo
- Mannen Street
- 27th Street
- 22nd Street
- 18th Street
- 7th Street
- 42nd Street to Linden Avenue
- 27th Street to Cherry Street
- Broadway Street to Railroad Avenue
- Logan Street to Perkins Avenue
- Main Street to Brickyard
These streets will be closed to thru traffic at various times during the project. You should use other routes when equipment is present and use extra caution for the safety of workers and motorists.
For residents who live on affected streets, driveway access will be maintained, except for brief periods when the milling machine is operating in front of your property.
