METROPOLIS – Two people are facing charges after Metropolis Police were told that someone threw a brick at a vehicle on 9th Street near Southgate Nursing Home over Memorial Day weekend.

According to Metropolis Police, the incident was reported by the victim Sunday.

A Metropolis officer responded to the area. The victim gave a description as well as suspect information.

During the follow up investigation, 19-year-old Evan L. Junkins of Metropolis became the main suspect. He was located in the 700 block of East 8th. Officers also determined that 19-year-old Daniel T. Ramirez of Metropolis had also thrown rocks at the vehicle.

When Junkins was advised he was under arrest, he resisted which ended in a struggle. Junkins was charged with Criminal Damage to Property and Resisting Arrest.

Ramirez, who was cooperative, was charged with Criminal Damage to Property.

Both were processed and released on a notice to appear.
