WEST FRANKFORT – A Herrin man is facing charges after methamphetamine and other drug-related paraphernalia were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop early Wednesday morning in West Frankfort.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped 49-year-old Diego D. Nevith on Illinois 149 near the intersection of I-57 and learned his driving privileges were suspended. As a result he was placed under arrest.

During the search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, deputies located meth and other drug-related paraphernalia. Nevith was taken to the Franklin County Jail and turned over to correctional officers for processing.

Nevith is charged with driving while license suspended, failure to signal when required, unlawful possession of methamphetamine – a Class 2 Felony – and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
