MARION – As you are probably aware by now, construction on Marion’s new Olive Garden restaurant has been going on for a few months on Illinois 13 across from Red Lobster.

As for when it will open, the City of Marion said Friday construction is ahead of schedule meaning it could be open sooner than originally planned. It was initially set to open in late October.  

City leaders say construction is also underway for Take 5 Oil Change and Tru Bru Organic Coffee in the area of Sinclair Road and Joe Abbot Way.

It was also announced Friday that building permits are in for Dunkin’ and Chipotle Mexican Grill. They will be located south of Illinois 13 across from O’Charley’s and Red Lobster.

Sunny Street Café is also working to get its building permit and locate on Halfway Road south of the Pilot Travel Center.
