EQUALITY – “Spark! Places of Innovation,” a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street program, will be on display starting Saturday at the Ohio River Scenic Byway Visitors Center in Equality. It will be there until July 22.
Tiffany Cheng is with the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and Museum on Main Street.
Cheng says they want this exhibition to be an opportunity for local communities as with all of their exhibits to tell their local story. She says the story of “Spark!” is how there are really creative and unique people in each of these rural communities who are doing innovative things to help address challenges that may be in their communities and puts a special spotlight on them.
Cheng says the exhibition is organized into four different categories of innovation – social, artistic, technological and cultural. Equality will be featured in the artistic section.
She says “Spark!” will travel to up to 144 small towns across 24 states throughout the next six years.
