MARION – The Fowler Bonan Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting communities and residents in need, is proud to announce its 2023 Together We Can canned soup drive. The event aims to collect cans of soup to help fight hunger in local communities.

The annual can drive runs from mid-February through March 15, with drop off sites at several locations across the region. The public is invited to donate cans of soup or make monetary contributions to support the local initiative.

“This is the third year for our Together We Can canned drive and we’ve shown that together we can make a real difference,” said Dale Fowler, the Board’s Chairman. “This can drive is a simple way for anyone to contribute to the fight against hunger and do something to support those in need throughout Southern Illinois.”

According to Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap, more than 45,000 (14.3%) southern Illinoisans struggle with having enough food to eat. The Fowler Bonan Foundation recognizes the importance of community support, especially during difficult times, and hopes that the soup drive will raise awareness of hunger in local communities and inspire people to take action. Since starting this annual drive, the Fowler Bonan Foundation has collected over 100,000 canned goods to give back in the community.
