(IOCI RADIO) – Illinois lawmakers are passing major nursing home reform legislation in hopes that residents will receive better care.
A new formula would be used to reimburse facilities that care for Medicaid patients, focusing on staffing levels under the bill. It also includes money to fund raises for nurses based on their years of experience, Rep. Anna Moeller said.
There are also incentives for facilities meeting certain levels of quality care. Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he applauds passage of the legislation.
