MT. VERNON – U.S. Congressman Mike Bost announced earlier this week that Applied Research & Development Labs Incorporated in Mt. Vernon will receive an $11.6 million contract to provide environmental services to the U.S. Army and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 Superfund Program support.
“As the lead Republican on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I am all too familiar with the effects toxic and hazardous materials can have on both the environment and the health of individuals exposed to them,” Bost said. “This contract will provide Applied Research & Development Labs with the resources needed to help the Army ensure that hazardous waste is dealt with properly so that it does not cause harm to the environment, service members, or civilians.”
ARDL Inc. is located on the grounds of the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport. The company was established in 1971 and has grown to include a staff of highly trained scientists, engineers, and technical specialists providing a wide range of services in the fields of chemistry, engineering, environmental sciences, industrial hygiene, and safety training.
