Following speculation in late 2020 about a potential breakup, Florida Georgia Line shared a video call between Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, reiterating a breakup is not happening and solo projects from the two are incoming.
After noting the Feb. 12 release of their fifth studio album Life Rolls On, Hubbard said they wanted to emphasize their intent to not mislead fans, but to “venture out and have a voice of our own.”
“I have a strong peace about the next journey, the next chapter. Just to clarify, FGL is not breaking up,” he said.
Kelley, who doesn’t often take lead vocals for the multi-CMA award-winning duo, said he’s written music throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and wanted to make it his own.
“Nobody knows this, but it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to write [an entire album.],” he said. “And once I started writing again[…]a couple songs that I felt like, ‘I’m supposed to sing these.'”
There’s no indication on when the solo projects will be released.
