State Rep. Terri Bryant: Hope to be “Leading the Fight” Against FOID Card Bill

SPRINGFIELD – The Fix the FOID Act, which fell in the last cycle in Springfield, could return in the new session. The bill would have raised the cost for FOID cards, forced citizens to use an FFL Dealer to purchase a firearm, and also included fingerprinting with a background check.

State Representative Terri Bryant, the ranking Republican and Minority Spokesperson on the Judiciary Criminals Committee, said she’ll “lead the fight” against the bill when it returns.

The Fix the FOID Act also would include a provision to lessen the validity of a FOID card from 10 years to 5 years.
