Sikeston Man Arrested in Connection to Nov. 5 Shooting in Carbondale

SIKESTON, MO – A Sikeston, Mo. man was arrested in relation to a fatal Nov. 5 shooting in Carbondale.

According to The Sikeston Standard Democrat, 21-year-old Tyren Jawan Johnson of Sikeston was charged with first-degree murder of a 28-year old man, and is currently jailed on $2 million bond.

An investigation led authorities to a Sikeston apartment, where Johnson was arrested Thursday without incident. Police said two guns were found hidden in the apartment plus $15,000 worth of illegal drugs, including crack cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana.

Johnson was one of three suspects sought by authorities related to incident, all believed to be in southeast Missouri. The search for the other two is ongoing.
