pet of the week

Ruby is in a 6 week boot camp program where she is being taught obedience, crate training and housebreaking. We are currently accepting application for Ruby BUT she will not be available to go to her forever home until after her graduation date of July 13.

As she is NOT at our shelter an approved application must be in place before we will schedule a meet and greet with Ruby.

Get your application in today.

Ruby is a beautiful female Shepherd/Beagle mix who weighs 45 lbs and is believed to be around 4 years old. She is lovely and has a wonderful disposition. She walks great on a leash and is very well behaved. She was found roaming the streets all alone, so after her stint at animal control, we welcomed her at PCHS for her chance at a safe and secure life. She loves car rides and she is wonderful on a leash!

Please know that if you come to meet any of the dogs at our facility, they may be excited to see you and extra active. Many times, this is not a true picture of how they may act in a warm, safe home setting. We, as volunteers, often take our shelter dogs on home visits and they become calm and act like completely different animals. This pertains to potty habits and demeanor. Please realize that they need a chance to shine out of the shelter setting!

Please call us at 618-542-DOGS(3647) or if you have any specific questions about me, please email the shelter volunteer at pchsinfo@yahoo.com or go to www.perrycountyhumanesocietyil.com to apply.
