Rauner Files Lawsuit Over Illinois Comptroller’s Handling of Paychecks

Governor Bruce Rauner’s office filed a lawsuit Monday over the way Illinois comptroller Susana Mendoza is handling paychecks. The lawsuit says Mendoza is violating a 2015 court order which says workers should get paid even if there’s no money appropriated in the budget. Mendoza’s office told Rauner’s that money for Central Management Service employees should could from a maintenance account. Rauner says the money in that account is needed for vehicle repairs.
