Franklin County residents will be voting on a sales tax increase in the upcoming April election. If approved the one percent sales tax will help raise money for a new courthouse. Board Chairman Randall Crocker says the current building has multiple problems such as electrical, heating, and air-conditioning issues. Leaders say they plan to get rid of the tax in 15 to 20 years once the cost of construction on the new building is paid off.
