Alcohol will soon be available at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Yesterday the SIU school board voted to allow the sale of alcohol at campus events. Many other universities throughout the state have already started selling liquor. Officials say they’re trying to cope with dwindling revenue from the state and the sales will provide needed revenue for the college. The university will be working on a policy after the holiday break, but there’s no word on how soon alcohol sales will be allowed on campus.
