Illinois has received a $1.3 million federal grant that will help people with mental health and addiction problems. The grant will go towards enforcing laws that require health insurance companies to cover treatment for mental health and addiction. Part of the grant will go to the Office of Consumer Health Insurance to improve data tracking and consumer complaint analysis. The grant will also help educate people on how they can appeal decisions made by their health insurance provider.
