Fire at Illinois Department of Human Services Considered Suspicious

State Officials are considering suspicious activity in the case of a fire at the Illinois Department of Human Services Building. The Murphysboro fire chief says a call about the fire was called in yesterday morning around 4am. A representative with the Illinois State Department says the fire is being considered as possible arson because there was forced entry into the building. No one was injured but services inside the building were damaged. The agency is working to set up a mobile office nearby to assist clients. Inside the building is offices forĀ State Rep. Terri Bryant and State Sen. Dave Luechtefeld along with the Western Egyptian Energy Assistance Program for Jackson County.
