The Carbondale City Council is expected to amend its food and beverage tax at 7 p.m. tonight in City Council Chambers at the Carbondale Civic Center. Officials postponed putting the tax, that was adopted in June, into effect so they could get more input from local businesses owners. The amendment is set to include the 4% tax along with provisions that business owners have recently asked for. This tax would include prepared foods at grocery stores, convenience stores, movie theaters, and prepared food at restaurants, hotels, and bars.
