For the first time in a decade this years Illinois State Fair will feature an auction where you can claim some rare and interesting items. The Illinois Treasurer’s Office plans to hold a live auction with 21,500 unclaimed items in 255 lots at the fair. Unclaimed items are put up for auction after ten years of attempting to locate the owners. The office says it will be auctioning items off such as a rookie card of late Chicago Cubs star Ernie Banks, an 1856 flying eagle cent, an Elvis Presley concert stub and there’s also a Cartier watch and a pair of new 1997 Air Jordan shoes. The office has already hosted 3 online auctions this year trying to get rid of the items and the live auction will be held on August 20th.
