One Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputy is being celebrated after receiving a special honor. Brian Murrah was awarded a certificate of appreciation to thank him for all his hard work on “Traffic Safety Days.” Murrah was award during the usual county board meeting by coworkers, county commissioners, Illinois State Troopers, the county farm bureau, and the state’s attorney. Murrah has played a big part in growing the event, held each spring, that uses demonstrations to reinforce safe driving among Driver’s Ed students. This year over 1,400 teens from 29 different schools participated in the event which has been going on for the past 8 years.
