One Hurst man will be facing a jury this August after being charged with first-degree murder back in April. 34 year-old Benjamin Howell was arrested and charged with first degree murder in the death of 40 year old Chad Jones of Lockport. Howell testified that he was using self defense during an altercation with Jones. Howell says he kicked Jones in the head because he believed he was reaching for a weapon. Williamson County Coroner Michael “Junior” Burke conducted an autopsy revealing blunt force trauma as the cause of death. Howell pleaded not guilty during his preliminary hearing in Williamson County court. On Tuesday August 19th Howell will appear before the Williamson County jury.
