Massive Manhunt Underway in Shawnee National Forest For Man Accused in Champaign Co. Officer Shooting

A massive manhunt is underway in the Shawnee National Forest for a former Pope County man who is accused of shooting a police officer. Dracy “Clint” Pendleton is wanted for the attempted murder of a police officer in Champaign County on Saturday. Although Pendleton has not been sighted in the area, he is originally from Pope County, prompting the manhunt. Pendleton is described as a white male standing 5’10” with blond hair, blue eyes and a distinctive beard. He may be driving a stolen white GMC pickup with Illinois plates reading 165533B.
