Saline Co. Dr. Accused of Murdering Wife Allegedly Tells Investigators He Had Money to “Leave And Never Be Found”

Saline Co. — Brian Burns, the Harrisburg man accused of murdering his estranged wife and then burning her body to hide the evidence has reportedly told investigators that he had planned on fleeing the country after committing the murder. A report from the Southern Illinoisan states that during a motion hearing to reduce his bail, Burns admitted to the murder of Carla Burns to investigators and also said that he had the money to “leave the country and never be found.” Burns motion to reduce bail from one million dollars down to $500,000 was denied. He remains in the Saline County Jail.
