Two Murphysboro Residents Arrested After Fight in Carbondale

Jackson Co. – Two from Murphysboro are behind bars after a fight in Carbondale yesterday afternoon. According to a release from the Carbondale Police Department, officers were called to the 1000 block of North Glenview Street in reference to a person with a gun. When officers arrived they learned that a man and woman had left the area in after getting into an altercation with an acquaintance, with each producing hand guns. Police shortly found the vehicle on the 1900 block of West Main Street. Police arrested the pair, identified as Theresa Hughes and Samson Hollins. Hughes is being charged with aggravated assault among other charges. Hollins is being charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Both are being held in the Jackson County Jail. No injuries are being reported.
