West Frankfort Man Sentenced in Relation to 2014 Heroin Overdose Death

Benton — A West Frankfort man is set to spend the next 23-years behind bars after being sentenced in connection to an overdose death. According to court records, Erik Brown was sentenced to 276 months in prison after pleading guilty to selling heroin to Steven Scott in December of 2014. Scott was found dead the next day in a West City hotel room. In addition to his prison sentence, Brown will serve three years of supervised release.
