Primary Election Voting Under Way in Illinois

Marion – Voting for the Illinois Primary continues as voters look to shape results both immediately and for the November General Elections. The polls opened this morning with several local and national races up for grabs. In Williamson County incumbent State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti is trying to secure his party’s General Election bid against challenger Daniel Kay. Franklin County voters face a similar decision with incumbent State’s Attorney Evan Owens facing former White and Pope County State’s Attorney Jason Drew. Recent Presidential polls show Senator Bernie Sanders closing in on Democratic leader Hillary Clinton, while Donald Trump and Ted Cruz continue to battle for the state’s Republican delegates. The polls will remains open until 7:00.
