State Police Reminding Drivers to Stay Safe on Wet Roads With Heavy Rains in The Forecase

DuQuoin – With several days of heavy rains forecasted in the area, Illinois State Police are reminding drivers to exercise safety while driving in the inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to stay off of water covered roads and obey all warning signs placed along roads. Most vehicle only have around a 6-inch clearance, and water higher than that could cause vehicle to lose control or even carry them away. Using safe driving practices will assist in safe travel during the upcoming wet weather.
