West City Firefighter Wins $25,000 on Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket

Franklin Co. — A West City firefighter is $25,000 richer. Illinois Lottery officials say 28-year-old Robert Snyder of Christopher recently scratched a $250,000 Crossword ticket and instantly won $25,000. When Snyder presented his winning ticket at the Lottery Prize Center in Fairview Heights, he said, “I still can’t believe I won, it doesn’t seem real.” Snyder added that he has won $100 a couple of times playing the game. He plans to put his winnings in the bank for now. The winning ticket was purchased at Rend Lake Liquors in Buckner. The retailer received a $250 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.
