Mounds Teen Sentenced to 15-Years in Officer Shooting

Pulaski Co. — A Mounds teen is set to spend the next 15 years behind bars after pleading guilty to shooting a police officer last year. According to court documents, Nigel Williams pleaded guilty yesterday to aggravated battery of a peace officer with a firearm and is being charged as an adult. Williams was arrested last July after police say he shot Officer Lyle Womack, who was investigating a burglary. Womack suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in the shooting.
