Saline Co. – Heavy winds turned a Saline County brush fire into a fire that claimed over 100 acres of field yesterday afternoon. According to a report from Saline County Authorities, the fire happened near Carrier Mills starting at around 11:30 yesterday morning, carving out around 2-miles of damage before firefighters from several area departments were able to get a handle on it and put it out. The hilly terrain of the area and the high winds made the firefighting efforts much harder than usual. Fire Crews were able to get the fire out by around 5:00. No word on what started the fire at this time.
