Lawmakers Introduce “Molly’s Law” To Illinois House in Honor of Molly Young

Springfield — Illinois Lawmakers are debating a bill that is being termed “Molly’s Law” dedicated to Molly Young, the Carbondale woman whose 2012 death remains unsolved. The legislation was introduced last week by Murphysboro native and State Representative Terri Bryant alongside House Republican Leader. Under the law public bodies that fail to disclose information deemed accessible by a circuit court would face a maximum fine of $10,000. Also; the statute of limitations for wrongful death claims would be changed to two years after a claimant’s discovery of evidence.
