Murphysboro Man Arrested After Wild Police Chase

Murphysboro — A Murphysboro man is behind bars on a litany of charges after leading police on a chase last night. According to reports from the Murphysboro Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle being driven by John Freidrich for speeding at the intersection of North 10th Street and Walnut Streets at around 10:35 last night when he drove away through a business parking lot hitting two other vehicles, a building, and eventually a police cruiser before finally being stopped. Friedrich was taken to Jackson County Jail on several charges, including aggravated DUI, aggravated speeding and criminal damage to state supported property.
