Transgender Herrin Girl Scout Receiving National Support After Taking Her Story Online

Herrin — A transgender Girl Scout from Herrin isn’t letting rude comments stop her from selling a lot of cookies. A report from BuzzFeed News covers the story of nine-year-old Stormi, who was selling Girl Scout cookies door-to-door last month in Herrin when a man turned her away, saying that “nobody wants to buy cookies from a boy in a dress.” In response, Stormi and her foster mother decided to share her story and move all her sales online and are receiving national support. As of last week, Stormi had sold over three-thousand boxes.
