Alexander Co. – Five recorded levee breaches in Alexander County have led to mandatory evacuations in some parts of the county. Flood waters breached the Len Small Levee System Saturday, pouring record flood waters from the quarter mile gap as far as 6-miles into low lying areas of Alexander County. Governor Bruce Rauner visited the area Saturday, saying Alexander County is in the worst condition he has seen state wide as waters continue to flow over the breached levees at a steady pace. Rauner has activated National Guard members to help with possible evacuations. State Police reports state that everyone from the affected towns has been accounted for and no injuries are being reported.
