Jackson County Officials Still Suggesting Evacuation

Jackson Co. – While Jackson County’s levees have held and water levels are receding, the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency is still recommending that those who evacuated their homes remain so until water levels drop even further away from the stressed levees. A release from the EMA states that officials anticipate lifting the evacuation recommendation either Wednesday or Thursday as waters continue to recede. Many roads in Jackson County remain closed although some have been reopened. A full listing of road closures can be found at JacksonCountyEMA.com.
