Gas Prices Dropping to Start 2016

Chicago — People returning to work from the holidays are seeing much lower gas prices across the state than they did at the beginning of 2015. Triple-A’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report shows the average price of a gallon of regular gas in Illinois is exactly $2.00 this morning. That number puts it at 14-cents less than this time last year. The national average price for a gallon of gas is sitting at $1.99.
