Emergency Proclamation Released for Jackson, Randolph Counties

Springfield – Governor Bruce Rauner has released Disaster Proclamations in several counties along the Mississippi River; including Jackson and Randolph Counties, as flood waters continue to rise to near record highs. Governor Rauner made the proclamation yesterday as the National Weather Service predicted a record-high 49.7 foot crest for New Year’s Day in Chester. The Jackson County Emergency Management Agency has recommended voluntary evacuation for communities along the river, as have Union County officials for those living in low lying areas within the county.
