Strong Storms Roll Through Area, Wind Damage Reported

Marion — People around southern Illinois are seeing the effects of yesterday’s severe weather with trees and even some buildings down around the listening area. The strongest of the storms were cells that rolled through northern Jackson, Perry and northern Franklin Counties, as well as a strong storm that produced a tornado warning near Vienna in Johnson County. There are reports of downed trees throughout several counties, including some that held up traffic for some time on I-57 in Franklin County and Highway 154 in Perry County. Several buildings were also damaged. Luckily, no injuries are being reported in the area.
