Murphysboro Man Out on Bail Arrested in Attempted Burglary

Murphysboro – A Murphysboro man is behind bars in connection to an attempted burglary. According to reports from the Murphysboro Police Department, officers were called to a home in town at around 5:30 yesterday evening after witnesses reported seeing someone walking inside the home with a flashlight. When officers arrived they saw the flashlight go out, and went inside to find a man, identified as Garrett Peterman, lying on the floor attempting to hide. Peterman, who was out of jail on bond from a previous offence, was arrested and is being held in the Jackson County Jail on charges of Residential Burglary.
