Carbondale City Officials Requesting Better Lighting at “Dark and Dangerous” Intersection

Carbondale – Carbondale City Leaders are looking for ways to better light the Route 13 and Reed Station Road Intersection, where two pedestrians were killed in an accident last week. According to a report from WSIL-TV, City Leaders have requested that the Illinois Department of Transportation “look into” ways to provide more light to the intersection. WSIL reports that residents and nearby business owners describe the intersection as “dark and dangerous.” Police reports have stated darkness to be a probable cause in last week’s fatal accident.
