Steven Tyler is hitting the road … by himself. The Aerosmith frontman will play two solo dates in March in promotion of his forthcoming debut country album.
Tyler will sit two nights at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls on March 29 and March 31 of next year. He will be joined by Loving Mary, his six-piece Nashville band, which includes songwriter Marti Frederiksen who has frequently written with Aerosmith over the years.
According to a press release, Tyler will perform his singles and “powerhouse hits such as ‘Dream On,’ ‘Janie’s Got a Gun,’ ‘Jaded’ and ‘Love Is Your Name.’”
This announcement follows quotes from Tyler’s Aerosmith bandmates, who claim the singer is abandoning them. Brad Whitford opened up about the band’s thoughts on Tyler’s country career to Billboard.
“We kind of feel a little bit abandoned by him,” Whitford tells Billboard. “I guess he seems to think his solo career is going to go great guns, and he doesn’t seem to realize that — in my opinion — his fans around the globe want to see him in the context of Aerosmith and don’t really care for whatever he thinks he’s gonna do.”
