Stonefort Man Gets 29-Years for 2014 Armed Bank Robbery

Saline Co. — Jeffrey Townsend of Stonefort is set to spend nearly 30-years behind bars for his role in an armed bank robbery last year in Carrier Mills. On December 10th of last year, Townsend entered the bank with a loaded revolver and demanded money. He was arrested a short time later. Townsend was sentenced Wednesday to 29-years within the Department of Corrections, along with 3-years of supervised release. He will also pay $7,877 in restitution to First Southern Bank in Carrier Mills.
